This study examined content validity index in order to develop the scale assessing Problem behaviors in children and adolescent with developmental disabilities. A total of 76 items were selected from several popular instruments including BPI, K-CBCL, ABC, and NCBR in order to apply those items for the comprehensive scale development. Based on the content validity index (CVI) scores measured by disability-related professionals, 11 items were deleted. In addition, a total of 12 items were newly added based on comments from those participating professionals. Throughout the each item review, two overlapping items were deleted and the rest of 75 items were finalized as the comprehensive scale items for assessing problem behaviors in children with developmental disabilities. As a previous procedure to standardize the comprehensive scale, the results show that those final items indicate high content validity with overall instrument CVI of 0.81. Finally, the needs of further research and practices were also discussed.
